Oregon DeMolay Potentate Class

Oregon DeMolay is coming together for the 2026 Potentate Class on Saturday, November 7, at the Al Kader Shrine Center in Wilsonville. This statewide induction ceremony will honor Illustrious Sir Jay Carey, Potentate of Al Kader Shrine.

The building will be available beginning at noon, with practice scheduled for 3:00 PM. During practice, potential new members will be able to hang out upstairs.

November is also a great time to bring someone new into DeMolay. New membership fees are half price for new DeMolays entered into eScribe from November 1 through December 10.

Dinner and Ceremony

Pizza and soft drinks will be available at 5:00 PM for $15 per person. Everyone attending is welcome to join us for dinner.

Please RSVP to Dad John Coulter at coulter.john77@gmail.com by November 4.

Following dinner, participants should change into a suit and tie, or at minimum a shirt and tie with slacks. No jeans, please.

The induction ceremony will begin at 7:00 PM. Both degrees and the 4th Section will be conducted back-to-back.

Who Can Attend?

Because degrees will be conducted, attendance is limited to:

  • DeMolays

  • Adult Advisors

  • Parents and grandparents

  • Members of other adult Masonic organizations, including Blue Lodge, Shriners, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Eastern Star, Amaranth, and Daughters of the Nile

Chapters bringing candidates to the Potentate Class must RSVP with Dad John Coulter by November 4. Please include the chapter name, names of the youth being inducted, and the adult advisors who will be attending.

We also encourage Al Kader Shrine members, including members of Hillah Temple, to come out and support the Potentate Class and Oregon DeMolay.

Overnight Option

For those wishing to stay overnight, large rooms upstairs at Al Kader Shrine will be available. Separate rooms will be provided for DeMolays, female adults, and male adults.

Youth staying overnight must have a chaperone from their chapter also stay overnight. Bring your own sleeping bag or blankets and a pillow. No showers will be available.

Everyone must leave the Al Kader Shrine Center by 9:00 AM Sunday morning.
